Fear displayed: Fear of nuclear
weapons/war (incomplete story version)

It has been a rather cold

Sunday, April 13th, 2021
I stand in the United House of Prayer for All. This has been my church for the
past few years actually, though I still wonder why there are so many in our
nation’s capital. It almost seems as though the city has a place of worship on
every corner of every street. Honestly, I find it kind of
ominous.
I am John Levi, I guess I can be religious if I want to be, it really
isn't that hard with a church along every single intersection. I have faith and
I walk around following my family’s customs of course. Though, with me only
being 19 years old, I still have a lot of time to think about my life and what
is to come. I’m still a teenager after all, I am going to live for a lot
longer.
I walk past the third church on the street, and in each of them I see
more and more people get in line for confessions. I look at the man in the
formal outfit suspiciously and ask him what is happening today that made so many
people go to the churches. He replied with the constant conflict between us and
the Koreas, which is probably going to become a war. He also told me he should
know this because he is a congressman, so I had to trust the man if he knew the
government.
I go over to the Korean War Veteran’s Memorial. I sometimes go there,
mostly to alleviate my fears. I always think of what we suffered through in the
past, and what we need to look out for in the present. Unfortunately the fear
still exists in me. But hey, nobody in the world really wants to die now do
they?
The guards at the memorial go over to us and tell everyone to walk over
to the TV, as the President has a public service announcement to make. At my
house we always get in a panic when things like these happen. One, were in the
nation’s capital, we live here, one of the most targeted locations in our
country, besides New York City. Also, since the Koreans have threatened war on
us, which has been going on since and probably before I was born, we have always
been cautious about that. We could run away to Pennsylvania where our relatives
live, but we wouldn’t have much time at all.
We all looked at the TV, the entire group of tourists and citizens of the
capital. As soon as the President came on the camera, I knew that he was in the
Pentagon. I knew what the white house looked like, as I have most likely taken
more tours than anyone else, at least that I know of. He began talking, and we
watched in the most nervous of feeling.
As he began referencing Korea, and the
“terrible times in American history”, I knew something was up, and I couldn’t
take it anymore, I had to know what was going on. If it is what I think it is,
my entire thought process will be done for, and as it turns out, the President
of the United States has warned us personally that a nuclear war has
begun.
Sweating even more with fear and agony, I rush over to the guards to wait
and see what we will do next. I am also breathing heavily, as I know that
something terrible, if not scary as hell, will happen any time now. The guards
tell us that there is a nuclear fallout shelter inside the memorial itself,
ironically, this is the very memorial to a war against the country we are
fighting against. But really, the war hasn’t even ended to begin
with.
The group that I am with begins to walk
into the fallout shelter. As soon as we started to descend down the shady and
dusty steps, I felt as though I couldn't articulate a single word, and sweat was
pouring down my face. A man with a tattered brown jacket and five o clock shadow
came up to me and patted my shoulder. He said,
"Hey kid, I'm sure everything will be
fine. We just have to have faith, okay?"
I wanted to believe him, but I just
couldn't at the moment. I knew something was going to happen, and I knew that we
were all going to be in danger during the next few seconds. Ten of us surround
the large grey room. As paranoid as we were, everything seemed to stay calm as
well. We all knew that we were together and nothing can separate us now, sort of
like a family really.
The shelter guard comes over to us and
informs that there has been a cease fire but the war is still on. We have a
month of supplies and we will have to stay in here until the final sounding that
war has been completely cut off, or until we run out of supplies that
is.
We begin to associate with each other
like we have known one another for months beforehand. I actually knew someone,
slightly, who was in with us. As shy as I have been for my entire life, I
actually managed to converse with everyone without getting the stereotypical
"butterflies in my stomach".
It has been about three days in the
shelter and I now know everybody by name, it really is not too difficult once
you get to know people for over twelve hours straight in a single day. There was
Trevor, who I just met as we walked inside with the tattered jacket. Though
there were a couple others that I really liked in general. Rose, who's kind of
dark but gets to know you if she likes your personality. Dave, who seems like
the cool kid but really can be the nicest guy ever. Also, there is Jade, who was
in my first grade class when I went to a different school a long time ago. US
being juniors and all, we shouldn't be able to remember each other too much,
though she stood out. Always helping others, she deserves to be in here, with at
least a glimpse at safety. I really haven't talked to her yet, and I want to,
maybe to just tell her that I recognize her and everything.
"H-hi Jade, I don't know if you remember
me, but I'm John! We were in first grade together if you
remember."
She looked puzzled for a few seconds,
but actually brightened up slightly and replied, "Oh yeah! You were that kid who
always wanted to read to me, you really bragged about being smart, hehe." She
giggled, but I could only blush in the situation. Yeah, now I remember, I had a
massive crush on her in first grade, or whatever you call that when you're a
little kid.
She continued on after I became silent,
obviously wanting to continue the conversation. "So, uh, it is a really bad time
to see each other again dontcha think?" She's still smiling, I couldn't believe
how she could be so cheerful about the subject of nuclear destruction, I am
still sweating and getting anxiety attacks by the hour.
I actually decided to ask her why. "So,
aren't you scared or anything?"
"Alittle" Jade replied. "But I know that
I have to take advantage of every moment that I have now, you only live once you
know."
That phrase, as stupid and familiar as
it seemed, motivated me slightly, especially coming from her. I never would have
guessed it, but I really became fearless for a second, but a second if
that.
"So, you want to sit down?" Jade asked
me, "We can go over to my friends Dave and Rose and all enjoy this time!!" I had
to agree with her, even though I wanted to be with her alone. Dave and Rose were
the two I talked to before, so we had no need for any new friend greetings or
anything like that. We talked the whole third day, and Jade seemed to grow as
fond of me as I did of her. Yet, something managed to crush my dreams. When
everyone got up from sitting down for acouple hours, Dave too a hold of Jade's
hand. I was actually starting to gather a liking toward her, romantically of
course, but I just sit back and lie down on the cold hard floor.
It's night time now and I can only
hear the yelling of two people in the tent next to me. I couldn't pick out the
entirety of the conversation, but "enjoying life" was one of the main things
that I heard. Suddenly the lamp in the tent turned off and I saw a shadow coming
out of the tent door, it was none other than Dave.
I then see him run over to the other side of the very large shelter room,
and I now became utterly mystified as to what went on and who was inside
that tent. I go to sleep in pure curiosity, still wondering what
happened.
The next morning when I wake up, I turn
my eyes directly to the mystery tent and I see none other than Jade walking
outside to get our frozen breakfasts. I sit just slightly away from her not
trying to draw any direct attention of her to myself, yet I still center myself
in her view of sight. We stay alone and speechless for the first couple of
minutes, but Jade eventually walks over to me and sits down next to me. I can
see a small tear going down her face, and she leans her head on my shoulder, not
saying a word. Knowing exactly what happened after seeing Dave go out of her
tent last night, I just comfort her. A minute after I utter an "It's going to be
fine." and she actually doesn't smile like her usual self. I knew he hurt her,
so I didn't try anything. Though she then began to cheer up slightly. "I'm sorry
that I didn't smile okay? It's not like me, we can just talk, it'll make me feel
better."
We sure did talk, for the next several
hours we laid down in our tent, talking about whatever and using our minds to
create visions of the best possible things ever. At the end of the day, she was
smiling and laughing, and I was doing more than that in my own mind, and I guess
that's what happens when you're in love in the nuclear apocalypse.
The fourth day ends rather peacefully
and normally, at least at the start. We look up to the ceiling, all we can see
is the grey paint on the concrete and black and yellow striped lines, but we
know the stars are gazing down on us.
"You know John, if we get out of this
place someday, I think we should definitely keep in touch, you really cheered me
up, and I almost never need that from anyone."
Oh my, the butterflies make their
return, a small compliment triggers my, not so much fear, but lack of proper
social skills, but for some reason, I went along with it and paid her a
compliment as well. "Well, with how we talked today, I can trust you with
anything really, it's like we've known each other since we were little kids." I
then saw the mistake I made but I let it go. Really though, I was telling the
truth, I could tell her anything. Someone like that, who can really help me, and
my gosh do I have problems beyond belief, can make me the happiest, even if I
only talked to such a person once.
I became scared when I saw the tear roll
down her eye, but she smiled so much soon after and shouted "We have known each
other since we were kids, and I feel like I've known you everyday since then."
Shocked as I was, I couldn't believe what happened, we then went into our first
kiss, and with my paranoia, probably our last. Whether it be by nuclear strike
or just with her hating me somehow in the next hour, I knew it wouldn't last.
Though she held both of my hands and we talked for over a hour before saying our
final goodbyes for the night.
I exit the tent, and I look over to my
right to see an ominous looking shadow right next to me, and it was none other
than Dave. He spoke to me in a rather condescending tone, saying "Kid, you gotta
lay off okay? I heard some pretty sweet talkin things from you."
Infuriated by his dialect, I almost
couldn't control myself, but I managed to say, "I guess you just gotta learn how
to love life Dave." I never thought I'd say that though, it's like I went from
the fearful dweeb to the loving confident romantic in just a day. Strange what
confinement in the nuclear apocalypse can do to you.
As I went to bed, the dreams
were much more cheerful, maybe because of the lack of anxiety and paranoia due
to what happened with Jade, or maybe just talking to someone that understands me
in general. Whether or not these things caused my happy attitude

SPIRITS OF THE SECOND COMING
It is the middle of this June of 2015 and Yeshua now begins his travels to the city of Giza in preparation for the meditation of his life. Every spiritual master he has ever come in contact with has been invited to the events, and he considers it a true honor to be invited to such a sacred ritual. Some have said this ceremony has been passed down by generations since even the ascended masters. Though, not knowing who or what these beings are, Yeshua continues on his way into the vast depths of the desert, looking for the small village in which he will stay for the night before the group gathering. Yeshua is only the age of twenty two, being a spiritual prodigy since he was eight. Having medium length black hair, he does not show the stereotypes of such an individual, also wearing everyday clothing and speaking with the everyday individuals around him.
Finally finding the small village of New Limeria, Yeshua settles in a modest wooden and clay hut. Also, Jeshua assumes that the village has not been touched or remodeled for hundreds of years, obviously keeping it spiritual among the natives and those who are outsiders that call it a residing area. Inside the house Yeshua finds many different tomes, one of them being the Bible, another being the Torah, and the third being the Quran. Along with these three notable works of sacred culture, the shelves contain many other religious books from many different faiths. Buddhism, Judaism, and any other religion possible, it was there. Taking a few minutes to read some of the smaller books before going to the bed area in the giant one room house, Jeshua discovers things that he could have never guessed existed. Tales about deities like Thoth and Yeshua Ben Hur, surprisingly sharing his first name. His parents were very religious, which was most likely the reason that Yeshua pursued the study of meditation himself.
Going over to the bed area, Yeshua lies down and begins to rest. Although, before going to sleep, he begins to experience vibrations in himself. Not physical sensations, though in the mental state, only the feeling existed, not the movement itself. He knew what this was though, the experience is called sleep paralysis and this is only the beginning. Losing all movement of limbs except his breathing abilities and face movement, Yeshua does not decide to control his breath and let’s go of the movement he has left of himself. Feeling as though he has been released from the tension, Yeshua wakes up from the paralysis nightmare, or the extremely vivid mental experience. Yet, as he stands up from his bed to get some water from the well next to his house, he notices that everything around him has changed to have a beautiful and metallic shine. Things have definitely changed in the world around him, and Yeshua bursts back into his house, only to find someone is sleeping in his bed already, minutes after he exited from the paralysis. Looking more closely, his own body is on the cold hard mattress. Surprised out of his mind, Yeshua figures that he is now having an Out of Body Experience. Very rare, even for spiritual masters, the opportunity is immense. Though, as soon as he could take in the entire experience, he is taken into the vast depths of space. Thinking of whether to be scared out of his mental body or to be ecstatic of the legendary event, Yeshua continues on to where the instinct of flight is taking him, earth only being the single black spec which takes part of the black void of things, light millennia away. Then, a true experience that will have eternal memories occurs.
As Yeshua begins flying upward at speeds unheard of in the universe, light begins to emit around him. Although, this is not normal light, the aura he is surrounded with is the spiritual sign of changing frequencies. As soon as the light begins to burst out in true beauty of the light color spectrum, the entire aura bursts away, with Jeshua being in a new land. Filled with beauty everywhere, crystals, metallic land everywhere, northern lights surrounding the entire sky, and flowers everywhere, more exotic than any pilgrimage he has ever been through. Exasperated by the journey he has just been through, Yeshua walks around the shining stone floor, seeing rainbow colored reflections. He does not spot a single sign of civilization in sight, the only thing that Yeshua decides to do, it meditate on the matters of what has happened. While being unorthodox for this custom, he does not close his eyes, taking in as much of the scenery as possible. Then suddenly, a being approaches him. Looking like an angel perhaps, though obviously not what is depicted by the paintings in religious buildings, he can only stare in astonishment as the being approaches him even closer and speaks in the English tongue.
Yet, Jeshua could not see the mouth of the being move, or even hear the words that were being said. Although, somehow, thoughts were being put inside his own mind, like a form of communication. He could somehow interpret these thoughts into what was trying to be said, he listened in and also tried thinking into the center of the being.
“Hello Jeshua, it has been quite a while, two decades really. It’s nice of you to stop by.” Thought by the being previously, Jeshua then replied…
“How do you know my name, wow this really works somehow, do you understand me?”
“Yes I do actually; it must be confusing for you, communicating like this for the first time that you can remember.”
It was indeed the most confusing experience for Jeshua actually; he could not believe what he was seeing, or rather, most likely thinking. Thoughts being transferred back and forth without the single need of a verbal expression, it was some sort of communication was being made real, though impossible in the world he was once in. he decides to go straight to the point and ask the being the major questions he has.
“Okay, if you don’t mind me asking, what is your name? How did I get here, and really, what is this place?”
The being replied, though hesitantly, he followed through on the questions. His name is Malachi, something called a Spirit Guide, a being who inhabits the individual world of astral projection a human of a lower frequency can travel to in dreams. This place is called the higher plane, one that is very rare to be seen by a human, though the reason Jeshua was brought here was to converse directly with Malachi. Jeshua continues on after Malachi’s explanation.
“So, this is a very special place that I am in? Is this by any chance, the definition of heaven?”
“You’re a Christian are you not, I can tell by how you are thinking about this world. Yes, this is a depiction of the place. But I brought you here instead of the lower plane to tell you something. There are many things your people need to know. You are going to hit down, hard, into the first dimension very very soon. A place so chaotic that anything can happen to your species as a whole. Your grid around your planet is failing. This time about a few months from now, your planet is destined to go into the next plane of thought, right here actually. Your entire race will ascend here in the next month. Though, an ancient species known as the Greys, who have been hunting Earth down for ages, have the power to distort and reverse the track of this evolution.”
Astonished at the message, Jeshua continues on yet again.
“Why would you be telling me this? I would not be able to help you, I do not even know who these Greys are.” Still questioning Malachi even more, Jeshua asks question after question. Bargaining for more information on what his purpose is in this conflict. Malachi at one point, realizes how desperate he is for answers, and finally expands the exposition that he gave Jeshua beforehand.
“There is, one reason that I brought you here though. As your spirit guide, I am also the keeper of your merkabah, the spiritual shield normally used in a time like this. Though, the entire race has weakened shields, and will lose all memory in the fall that is about to happen. Though, we still have one hope, and it requires an individual who can control these powers beyond even the Grey’s comprehension.”
Jeshua’s time in this landscape has fallen short though, and the binding between his life in his own plane begins to break. Still having numerous questions though, he falls back into the town of New Limeria into his body.
He then wakes up on Sunday, the twenty first of June. Remembering most of the revelation that he has experienced, his journey to the gathering will now be much different than it was intended. He goes outside of his house to see his fellow Monks, Gurus, and even Priests packing their bags and traveling to the pyramids of Giza in which they will hold the gathering. Keeping the numerous events in his mind even still now, Jeshua continues on to the Egyptian monument.
His group enters the pyramids, and the leader of the assembly opens another path that even Jeshua was not knowledgeable of. The most important individuals in the group stayed close to Jeshua and surprisingly, showed gestures that implied seniority to him. Opening up secret door after secret door, they then descend down flights of stairs.

SHORT STORIES
